GOVERNANCE

PiNSA is governed by a set of organisational guidelines which are aligned to our Constitution. The roles and responsibilities of the Office Bearers are outlined in this document as well as the operational elements of the organisation.

National Committee

Office Bearers:

  1. Chairman
  2. Vice-Chairman
  3. Treasurer
  4. Secretary

Portfolios:

  • Media liaison
  • Patient support
  • Provincial branch developer
  • Fundraising co-ordinator
  • Medical liaison

Financial Management

The sustainability of PiNSA relies on a sound governance of income and expenditure.

Communications

e-Mail is the predominant form of communication among the PiNSA committee.

Reports

The Chair is required to write an Annual Report and the Treasurer an annual Financial Report, both for the AGM.

Members who attend events on behalf of PiNSA are expected to report on their experience and make these reports available to the other members.

Meetings

Board Meetings

Except for an annual strategic planning workshop, due to the geographical distance face-to-face national board meetings are not viable. Communications are therefore through e-mail or teleconference. Minutes of these meetings are taken and distributed to all Board members.

Annual General Meeting

This meeting is held once each year for the purpose of presenting the Annual Report and Financial Statements, electing a new panel of officers, appointing an auditor for the next year, and to consider, deal with, and dispose of such other business as may properly come before the meeting. All PiNSA members are invited to attend through PiNSA_Link our primary communication channel of the association

Special Meetings

Special Meetings of the NMO-members may be called at any time by the Chairman or at the request of a majority of the Board or by a majority of the NMO-members.
